Brian's POV
It was Monday night at Babylon. It was the first night in weeks that Ted, Emmett, Michael, and I were there – together – at the same time. It felt kind of familiar, but on the other hand it was weird. The first 10 minutes of conversation was about “Where’s Ben?” “Where’s Blake?” “Where’s Drew?”
Thank god everybody knew where Justin was.
“So, what do you guys have planed?” Emmett asked me, visibly euphoric.
“For what?” I asked and he looked at me as if I had asked him the most stupid question ever. So I tried to remember everyone’s birthday and was pretty sure that I hadn’t forgotten anyone. Michael’s had already came and went, Ted’s, Ben’s and Justin’s were coming up in March and Emmett’s… was a secret.
“It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow,” Michael laughed at me and frowned when he looked on his watch. “Actually, it’s today.”
“Blake said he wants to take care of it,” Ted said happily as always when he talked about his husband. “So all I have is his favorite chocolate, some flowers and two tickets for an opera in New York in April.”
“Wow,” Michael nodded impressed. “Not bad. Well, we haven’t planned anything. I think Ben and I will just make an early evening of it, you know. Hunter has a date tomorrow, so...”
“So you two are going to let the walls tremble?” I assumed and he shot me back this annoyed rolled eyes look. I was absolutely sure if anyone else would’ve said it, Michael would’ve smiled like an idiot.
He shrugged anyway and said, “Sort of, yes.”
“What about you, Em? The first Valentine’s for the two of you,” Ted said.
Emmett smiled, looking as happy as Ted. I was wondering if they every got punched for those fucking smiles on their faces. God… why couldn’t they just answer a question without grinning like a Cheshire cat?
“Actually it’s our second,” he said, looking mildly embarrassed. “Last year we were together, too, but... anyway... I thought up something special, and I wanted to rebuild our first time, but… Sierra got the house. So instead I have booked the motel room we spent so many wonderful hours together and I have bought some new underwear... eatable underwear. So he can start and... doesn’t have to stop.”
For some reason they thought it was funny. They all laughed. Eatable underwear? Flowers? Favorite chocolates? Opera? The only funny thing was the ex-wife who had gotten the house where her husband had fucked the caterer.
“What’s your plan?” Michael asked me.
I just shook my head and shrugged.
Emmett bumped me. “O come on, you have to do something, after all… You can’t just do nothing!”
Of course I could. It was only fucking Valentine’s Day, nothing special. “Justine’s in New York, what am I suppose to do?”
“You could send him a Valentine’s card”, Emmett suggested.
“Hi sweetheart, I love you forever, your dearest?” I shuddered and shook my head. “He’s already got a house, a ring, and a studio. I’m done. Anyway, it’s not a holiday or anything; it’s just a day that was made up by greeting card companies, chocolate makers, and florists to boost sales between Christmas and Easter.”
Ted shrugged. “The good thing is that after all these years he doesn’t expect anything anymore.”
“And that’s a good thing?” Emmett looked at him. “How sad is that?”
“We celebrated on the weekend,” I said. Why did I feel the need to justify myself?
Emmett shook his head. “Guess you’re right. It’s a good thing that he doesn’t expect anything.”
Fuck them!
I left and went straight to the backroom. It was full. And some guys looked really hot. I hadn’t waited long before one of them walked over to me and fell to his knees. But when he unbuttoned fly on my jeans and I stopped him. I had no idea why, it just happened.
Five minutes later I left the club.
Justin's POV
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Noelle welcomed me when I walked into the kitchen at the morning. She handed me a red rose and a kissed me on the cheek.
“Thanks,” I said and nodded. That was probably the only Valentine’s gift I would get today. “What do you want?”
“The apartment, tonight, please.”
I raised an eyebrow. “What for?”
“Charlie is coming over.”
That wasn’t new, Charlie practically lived here. “I can’t even stay in my room? I won’t disturb you. I never do.”
“Please,” she begged me.
I sighed. “Why do you…” I closed my eyes and shook my head. “I don’t want to know. Just… stay out of my room.”
She hugged me again. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
It was Tuesday; I needed a place for the night.
“You’re the best. I can give you 50 bucks, okay?”
“My room is not for rent!”
She bumped me. “For the hotel. I don’t want you to sleep on the street, it’s winter out there. So have yourself a nice night. Or... wait... what about Brian?”
“What about him?” I took one of the croissants.
“Do you have planed anything for tonight? Will he show up?”
I laughed. Brian Kinney didn’t do Valentine’s Day. He never did. Unfortunately for me. And since he had just been here 36 hours ago, he also wouldn’t show up again so quickly. “No.”
“Nothing? Not even hot... webcam sex or something like that?”
“No.” I took my jacket, grabbed my keys and the 50 bucks she offered me and left the apartment. It was okay, after all those years I knew what to expect from Brian and he never was a fan of the Valentine’s Day or any other romantic gesture. And even though I would’ve loved to get something, just because I didn’t like our relationship to always be so different from everyone else, I could understand why some people didn’t like the day in question.
The day wasn’t so bad. I got two chocolate-hearts from two of the girls I worked with. I was the only guy who got something at work. That’s one of the many benefits when you’re a gay guy, girls love you.
It was already afternoon when Brian called me. It was an early call; normally we didn’t call each other at work. But maybe it was a special day today… maybe…
“Hey,” I answered.
“Hey,” he said. “I have to cancel our webcam-date tonight.”
So much for special. I made a face – which he couldn’t see, of course. “Why?”
“I have a meeting later and I have no idea how long it will last. It’s a video-conference with Australia.”
“Australia?” Great, now I wouldn’t even get phone sex on Valentine’s Day.
“Yeah, they saw one of our campaigns on YouTube and they liked it. Now they want us to work something out for them. And since I’m the only one who’s available and willing to work tonight... and since it’s my company...”
I nodded and sighed while looking at the two chocolate hearts. I would eat them tonight, both. “It’s okay. I can’t go home anyway.”
“Why’s that?”
“Noelle wants the apartment tonight. I have no idea what they have planned but... I hope they clean it up before I get back.”
He laughed. “Girls.”
“Yeah. Girls are great.”
“Since when?”
“Since two of them gave me big chocolate hearts today. So far I got a rose from Noelle and two chocolate hearts from Daisy and Fiona. Try to beat that.”
He cleared his throat. “Okay, let me see. Where are you planning to stay tonight?”
“Some motel I guess.”
“Want my room?”
“I can’t afford that.”
“So I guess I beat them with their rose and their chocolate hearts?”
“Only if you were there waiting for me in the hotel bed…naked.” I laughed, like that was ever gonna happen. At least it was a very luxurious hotel room with a beautiful bath tub, I’m sure I would be able to enjoy it on my own. “Can I order room service for dinner?”
“Sure.”
“Okay, then I’ll forgive you.”
“Lucky me, huh?”
I touched the chocolate heart. “I miss you.”
“Only two days.”
“Doesn’t help.”
“I have to go. Enjoy your night.”
I looked at my cell phone after he hung up. Enjoy your night, what the fuck? In the whole wide world, how did I manage to find the most unromantic pseudo-husband?
After work, I walked through the streets and got depressed while looking at all those happy couples. And everywhere I looked I saw red hearts. So I went to a bar and 10 minutes later I had three options for a Valentine’s fuck. Three really cute options. I thought about taking one up on his offer, but I wasn’t really in the mood for a nameless fuck. So I drank two cocktails and left. It was cold, but the night was clear. Since there was no one waiting for me except an empty hotel room, I walked slowly to the hotel – which actually depressed me even more. Signs of “love” and “romance” were plastered everywhere; there was no place to get away from it.
I was happy when I finally the hotel and the receptionist gave me the key card.
“Thanks.”
He nodded. “Mr. Kinney is already awaiting you.”
I looked at him and frowned. “Excuse me?”
“Mr. Kinney, he’s waiting for you.”
“Where?” I asked and looked around.
I obviously confused the poor man – just as he confused me. “Well, in your room.”
I stared at him. “What does that mean? He’s here?”
“Yes, Sir. He arrived two hours ago.”
“I’m not a Sir and … Oh my god!”
Thank god there was no one else in the elevator, since I was practically jumping and dancing around the entire time. He was here! He was here! What the fuck?!
When I walked into the room I could see the soft light spilling from the bedroom. And then I saw him, lying prone on the bed, naked. Just as I had told him on the phone. He seemed to be asleep, but I didn’t care. It was a beautiful scene to take in.
I couldn’t believe it. But on the other hand – why was I surprised? Sure, there was a time when he wouldn’t have done anything to celebrate that day. But that was a long time ago; it was before... the bomb. Everything had changed since then.
I took off my clothes and crawled onto the bed, hovering above him, and I started kissing his back. I loved his skin. It always felt so soft and warm and I always loved to touch him. I was practically on top of him and when I reached his shoulders and his ear I whispered: “Australia, huh?”
“They just popped into my head because I was jealous on them.”
“Why?”
“Because Valentine’s Day is already over down there.”
I laughed and just cuddled against his back.
“What took you so long to get here?” he mumbled. “And your hands are fucking freezing.”
“I was at a bar and then I walked here. I had no idea…” I cuddled against him and sighed. “This is super romantic, you know that, right?”
“I’ll deny it.”
I kissed his shoulders and let my lips wander down his back and across his butt cheeks. I loved it when he moaned as soon as my tongue touched his hole.
I kissed my way up his back again until I reached his neck. I was still lying on him. This was definitely the best Valentine’s Day ever. “You’re wonderful. I love you.”
He looked over his shoulder; then he nodded, took one of the condoms and the lube from the nightstand and looked at me again when he handed them over. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

on 2011-03-04 11:18 am (UTC)Anyway I'll be away for one week, just so you know.
But I had fun with your new part. Great idea. Brian doesn't do romantic, that we all know but he always is the one who takes the best of situations and turns them into uber romantic, special moments without saying so. When I read this, I remembered the ep where he got the computer for Justin -same her, coming to NYC, making the night for Justin in all ways he has to offer!
That was so good!!! Thanks so much, dear soulmate!!! Pet
