5. ...remember what's missing?

Brian's POV
I waited in the airport. I hated that, it’s so pathetic. All those people who waited there, yelling, smiling, crying...as if they had just found a lost family member. And there I was, in the middle of them, not sure if I wanted to yell, smile or cry when I saw him walking through the door, a bag over his shoulder, his hair unstyled and way too long but so sexy and a smile on his face.
We were so pathetic...I loved it. I waited till he reached me, grabbed him, my hand in his neck and pulled him close for a really mind-blowing kiss. If I had to be as pathetic as they were, I could at least being better than all of them. And two men kissing was still something people looked at, fascinated.
After the kiss he leaned his head against my chest and sighed.
"Flight okay?" I asked.
He leaned his chin against my chest and looked up at me. "Who cares, I’m here. Take me home."
It’s always good to hear him call Pittsburgh home, it’s good to have him here. I put my arm around his shoulder, took his bag and pushed him forward. We had to get out if this building, we had to get home. The loft was waiting, the bed was waiting, the new sheets were waiting. Not to mention the condoms and the lube – and me!
Justin’s POV
I knew when I would leave Pittsburgh on Sunday night, I would have a hard time sitting my ass, because it would be sore as never before. And that was a good thing.
When I saw him waiting for me at the airport, I could have jumped happily – of course I didn’t. Somehow I didn’t expect him to pick me up. When I came back from Hollywood he knew when I would arrive, but he wasn’t there, it was just not his thing to do. Things obviously had changed and I liked it.
He kissed me, full of passion and love, it was wonderful. I missed the nearness, missed that feeling. So I just closed my eyes and enjoyed everything. We weren’t talking much. We just drove to the loft, we kissed, we got naked, we got to the bed and then we fucked.
The first fuck started slow and tender and didn’t last long. Two months were too long to take it patiently. But it didn’t matter, nothing mattered. The second fuck was harder and more passionate and it lasted a little longer. We fucked face to face, him behind me, me on top of him, his dick in my mouth and vice versa, and you know what? Phone sex just sucks!
I arrived at 8 pm and when we were finally done with our own greetings and welcomes it was already 2 am. We were both breathless and sweaty and tired, but satisfied.
He stroked the hair out of my face and looked at me. He seemed totally relax and happy. That was a good thing. I just wanted to enjoy this weekend. It was way too short to deal with serious stuff again. I wanted to fuck, kiss, dance, laugh and fuck even more. I just wanted to be with him.
"New sheets, huh?" I asked.
"Pure silk."
"Feels great."
"It does." He kissed me and sighed. "So, what’s new?"
"Nothing. I’m still working at the gallery and in the coffee shop.“
"But that’s not the reason why you’re so busy all the time.“
I nestled my face on his neck and moaned. "No, I have a project coming up... maybe."
"What kind of project?“
"Hopefully a project that will help me to make some money. It’s not finished yet. I’ll tell you about when it’s done okay?" I wanted the website to be a surprise and my plan was to tell him about it, after I had sold the first piece of art. I wanted him to be proud.
"Okay."
Brian’s POV
He still cut me out, didn’t talk about it. I wasn’t concerned that he was doing something wrong or even illegal, I just wanted to know what kept him busy for so long. Maybe I could help him. I knew he didn’t want me to help him, and that was probably the reason why he didn’t tell me about it.
"It’s so good to be here," he mumbled into my neck. He was almost asleep. "We should make up a new rule. Never staying apart for longer than three weeks."
"I like that rule." But I knew we would break it. He, because he was just busy with building his own life in another city, and me because I knew that.
"Good. So I expect you to show up in New York in three weeks."
"Okay." We would see.
A few minutes later he was asleep and I just tried to relax. He was here, in my arms, there was no reason to think about not having him here, not in that moment. I closed my eyes...

Ted’s fucking party was on Saturday. I would’ve preferred to go to Babylon with Justin, dancing, fucking and just enjoying the weekend. But I knew that Justin was excited to see them all again, but probably not so excited to go to Babylon, since the club wasn’t his favourite place. We never talked about it. Sometimes he asked me, but then never asked again.
I also knew how excited all of them were to see him again. They expected him to tell them great stories about New York and his fabulous new life there. The life he was busy building.
We spent the entire day at the loft. We agreed that we had to make up for the last months and so we barely talked, which was weird and wonderful at the same time. We weren’t fucking the whole time. We ordered Thai and we watched TV and then we fucked again and then we showered.
The second we arrived at Ted’s and Blake’s house Justin suddenly disappeared.
Justin’s POV
I tried to stay with Brian during the party but it was impossible. The second we arrived they were all there, my mother, Tucker, Emmett, Debbie, Michael, Ben and somehow they were all very loud and they all seemed to grab after me. They kissed me, hugged me, babbled and babbled and I wondered if they ever were so fucking loud. Brian somehow disappeared out of my reach.
I knew he felt uncomfortable at the party, he always does. He would’ve preferred to go to Babylon or stay home. He never mentioned the club, but it was obvious. He somehow seemed to avoid Babylon when I was there or when we were talking. I knew there was something wrong about that, but again, not that weekend.
I tried to answer all of their questions as good as possible, but they had a totally weird idea of what living in New York really meant. Emmett was talking about fashion shows he would love to visit, of course with a VIP-passport. Debbie agreed with him and engaged him with getting designer stuff for her. Michael talked me into a new idea for "Rage“ – saving New York City. Ben asked about the city as itself and if I already had seen much about it, probably the most intelligent question out of all.
After what seemed to be an eternity I got saved by Ted, who wanted to show us the house. So I found my boyfriend and could leave the really loud people I used to love with a good excuse, since they all already knew the house.
The house wasn’t big, but it was very nice, comfortable and warm. They had a big living room with a fireplace and an open kitchen. Reminded me a little of Debbie's house, but of course their house was more modern and not as kitschy as Deb’s.
On the first floor there was a really big bathroom which Brian totally adored and I think he was really impressed by Ted’s taste here; and the bedroom, which was also really big and had a walk-in closet. Brian fell in love with it immediately.
On the second floor was another bathroom, smaller but still comfortable and a guest room.
"It’s absolutely beautiful," I said. It was great to see Ted so happy. I never saw him like that. Ted is not what I would call an optimist, but Blake seemed to be able to deal with it and together they were such a couple, it was scary.
"Respect, Theodore," Brian nodded.
Brian’s POV
I had to admit that their house was really great without being too pathetic. The big bathroom alone was worth living here.
While watching Ted and Blake together I got this weird feeling again. The feeling I always got when I saw the wedding rings or the keys for the manor or just a couple on the street. The feeling I always had when I was alone at night and thought that maybe I made a mistake, that maybe I underestimated everything.
Somehow our conversation got really strange and we talked about older guys with younger lovers and somehow Ted and me ended up compared to each other, because of our younger boyfriends, and in the end it turned out that Blake was also twelve years younger than Ted – just as Justin was twelve years younger than me. The difference was, Justin and I never talked about that – what for?
"It makes you feel younger, doesn’t it?" Ted cheered to me.
What the fuck?!
Blake leaned over to Justin. "But sometimes it just reminded him that he'll be forty next year.“
And that was obviously something we’ve never talked about!
"Just a few years and the two of you will be thirty, too," Ted answered.
Obviously this aging thing was a little teasing game between them, because Blake just nodded and kissed Ted. "It doesn’t matter how old I am, you’re always going to be 12 years older.“
I looked at Justin who was busy trying not to laugh, while Ted and Blake went back to the other guests.
I just shook my head. "If you ever..."
He burst out laughing and dropped against my chest.
Justin’s POV
It was strange. Something changed during the party. It was nice, I talked to everyone and I managed to not let Brian disappear again.
After a few hours we drove back to the loft. I somehow expected us to go to Babylon, but again, something was strange. We barely talked, he was very quiet. And I knew it was the house and Ted and Blake living together and that it was because of me that we couldn’t have that – at least not now.
Not that I didn’t miss it, I did. Coming home, knowing he would be there was always a great feeling and it always made me feel comfortable and safe. But on the other hand, I really loved living on my own, being independent.
Then again, Ted and Blake had also a long journey to pass before they finally reached their goal.
"It was a great party," I said when we laid in bet, naked, side by side.
"Wasn’t bad."
"Of course, our party will be so much better."
He turned his head and looked at me, I didn’t return the look, but I knew I got him and so did he. I smiled satisfied, while he just cleared his throat and then grabbed my shoulder to turn me around, while I was still giggling. He prepared both of us and a few seconds later he laid on top of my back and was deep inside me again, his face on my neck.
I just relaxed and let his fingers interwine with mine while hoping that he had finally started to believe in his own words... it’s only time.
