Justin's POV

“Happy Birthday.“

He blinked and moaned. “Mh, fuck, I can still hear you. So I guess I’m not dead, yet?“

“No.“ I smiled at him. It was practically the same procedure every year. But god forbid if we really ignore his birthday. “So, since the time to die young is definitely over for you, old man, is there any chance you finally agree with my plans to spend the rest of your old days with your ... much younger partner?“

“Much young...,“ he sighed. “O please, don’t flatter yourself, you’re not that young anymore either, Mr. 30.“

I laughed and moved closer to him. He was still beautiful. The little wrinkles around his eyes didn’t change that. Of course he disagreed about that, but so far I could've stopped him from using Botox or ... even worse. He just close-cropped his hair and yes, he was right, it made him look younger. Not that I cared about it, but he did.

“Well then, Mr. 42, would you like to...“

“39, okay? 39. That’s the magic number for the next... 10 years!“

I raised an eyebrow.

“Wow, I never thought this would ever happen, but... ten years from now I’m not only the wiser and smarter one in this relationship, I’m also going to be the older one. Yay...“

He rolled his eyes and made a face. “Why can I still hear you?“

With the same bright smile since 12 years I snuggled against him and buried my face in his neck. I just loved my birthday drama queen... every single year.

I read the ficlet and also the comments and I'm feeling offended a little bit on the behalf of Brian...and me: it's NOT being a drama queen when he, like I did at my last birthday, stated that he, like me, stays 39, :-). Ok, I came to the point 10 years later, so I'm 49 and plan to stay that age for the next wtf-ever years but the thought is the same, right?
So, you can assume what's coming now: of course I like the ficlet very much and I agree to him and no, I would never make fun about using expensive creams in the secure hope that it makes me looks younger. Oh Jeez, now I have to laugh even more. Only: the laugh stops immediately when I think about the birth date in my passport....
