Powerful chapter. Now we all know that QAF is a fictitious world (yeah, it really is!), but this "fictitious" memorial makes me think of all the 2012 Presidential news that is starting already. Most reports I hear saw that conservatives are going to make gay marriage one of their major issues.
Earthquakes in NZ; wars (STILL) in Afghanistan and Iraq, food-oil-gas prices rising, unemployment still very high, pensions-savings-housing values depleted...
and somehow people who love each other enough to make a public, life-long commitment are a threat??
